Back ache and dinner

Got a real nice migraine today, so I tried to work it off at the gymn after work. It turned out quite well, but I hurt my lower back in the process... so it's really hard to tie my shoes, put socks on, lift Klara up and so on. Oh, wiping my ass is no picnic either. :D

Later this evening, Saga and her parents came over, we had dinner and drank some wine, played with the kids and had a really nice time. Seems like the kids learn from each other every time they meet.

Saga is a bit ahead in the standing/crawling area. Klara and Saga had a small race around the kitchen island a couple of laps. Then Klara just did a Cannonball run.
Rounding things up, my head is all ok, and my back is almost there too. And tomorrow it's New Years eve!

On a small side note, Klara took two steps on her own, holding on to the table and sofa...

The Christmas sale has started

Began the day at 7am (or so) with feeding the kid, then acting as a barf collector, as she enhanced the morning with throwing up on me. So I hit the shower, and managed to fall asleep again, only to get a rude awakening from the Mrs. at 9am. Apparently I was late, we were late. How can one be late for a relaxing day in the city?
Anyway, we got on our way to mom, left Klara there so we could enjoy a day just the two of us, and mom and dad enjoy a day with Klara.
No trip to the city is complete without checking in and out at IKEA, so we got that done, then headed to New York pizza, they make the best pizza I know of. By the way, the shop is run by a Hungarian family. :) After a giant pizza, we took on the shopping round.
The plan was to do Triangeln and the shopping street, then see "Yes man" with Jim Carrey and eat dinner out. After Triangeln, we still had one our until the movie would start, and all of a sudden we realised, that we wouldn't see Klara for another three-four hours. By the time we would have gotten home with her, it would have been time for her to go to bed. Also, I was pretty exhausted (real men don't do shopping well) and we got tired of the crowd and the shops turned upside down by shoppers. The parental hormones kicked in, we skipped the movie and blazed home.
Great day all in all, huh? Not even close to the fun, relaxed, romantic idea we had of today. At least Klara had fun, and mom and dad were thrilled, so I'm still happy.

After the gymn

Since my head was about to explode, I went down to the gymn and got down with the weigts to some good progressive house from Coronita. My head is still attached fortunately, so I'm rounding things off with good food at Thai way right now.

Konbanwa

Just came home from a concert in the small church close to us, all in all pretty okay. The best part was the conductor, she was Japanese. So after the concert, I went over to her and practiced my beginners Japanese. Awesome. A mistake was to say "nihongo ga amari hanasemasen", so she started talking to me in Japanese :D
I really should stick to using "nihongo ga wakarimasen" for a while.

Dinner, a small party and Christmas incoming

On Thursday Robert came over for dinner. It's been a long time since we hung out a little, though we meet every day at work, and almost always have lunch.
He seems to be great with kids. ;)

Yesterday we had a small get-together with some of our other friends. It's really nice to have small parties, we always have lots of fun. I "reused" a game from Wednesdays party at work, but our friends are to disorganised apparently, it took twice as long as it should. :)

So, after sleeping longer than usual, we got up and started preparing for Christmas. We got a big ass spider off the tree and the Mrs. freaked out.

Klara didn't see the problem with her helping us in her own lick-anything-you-reach ways, and soon our fake, save-the-Christmas-trees tree was ready.

Section party

So, our slightly economically challenged section party kicks-off.
View of the city, check.
Wii, check.
Food incoming, check.
Merry beverages, check.
Music, check.
All the people at a meeting, check.
Okay, so we're not quite there yet. :)

Earthquake

Early this morning an earthquake, which is a relatively rare occurrence here, shook the southern parts of Sweden. I thought Klara was awake, and jumped around in her bed, causing the bed to bang against the wall. So I told the mrs. to get up and make her breakfast, then I want back to sleep. Wonder how I could mix up a 4.7 earthquake feeling as if a lorry had hit the living room, with a kid (barely able to stand up on her own) jumping in her bed, but anyway...

Safety first

Precautions again. While it effectively stops Klara from falling down the stairs, I have to remember to open the gate not to fall over it. :-P

Still not well

The cold isn't letting go of it's grip, so I'll have to skip the gymn this week too I guess. No training the boobies with Mr. Andersson :(
And next week it's Christmas... we all know how that will go.

Robyn

...is one of the best artists I know, a Swedish superstar.
She opened the Nobel Peace Prize for 2008, performing two of her songs, and it was just unbelievable. Her record is the only one I thought was worth giving money for in the last couple of years. Check out the two tracks on YouTube, With every heart beat and Be mine

Party with the neighbours

Tonight we had a small get together with the neighbours in the new building outside of our house. We ate a sh*tload of homemade cookies after pushing down a pizza and some beer. Glühwein was also on the menu.
We had a really great time, all the kids made a lot of noise, I threw balls on them and chased them around, just for fun.
Finishing off the night with some poker, which I don't master, but I came out almost winner after two buy-ins. :P
Everyone should have neighbours like ours...

Ms Santa

Sale...

A computer store is bankrupt, all items will be sold out. But it's freezing cold outside, despite lots of clothes I'm shivering and it's still 50min until they open. As there are 300+ people ahead of me, I doubt I will get wait I want, and waiting 2hrs for that is not my idea of fun. Wonder what the 200 people behind me think. I gave up.

The new party drug

I think the DEA in Hungary would be interested in the origins of this fruit.

Light's up

Finally it's solved. 3m up in the air, the damn architect thought it would be nice. That may be right, but getting anything up there is a nightmare. Fortunately, we could borrow the neighbour's long ladder, and with inches to spare, it was possible to use. Long useless pieces of shelves came to use yesterday.
Yeah, I put a long-life, low-energy bulb in there.

Cut-downs at work

Just got the news this morning, our team is "safe". While it would have been a bit surprising to find out that's not the case, it's still good to hear the official news.

Cold

Damn it, feel like Klara has done a proper job in providing the cold she has a new host, namely me. My throat feels a bit sore, and I really need to get some more sleep. At least it's not the flu. That one is pretty tough this year, I heard.
