Not always exactly following Champions League, now it's more interesting for two reasons. Malmö FF is playing against FK Zalgiris Vilnius both in Malmö and in Vilnius. Dates are 15th of July and 21st of July. If you're a fan of MFF, there's a great trip waiting for you, all well planned by the team behind Turn East Travel.

The greatest tour shop in the Baltics
If you ever think of discovering Vilnius - which you should! - the only place you need to look, except for your flight tickets, is right here, at Turn East Travel, the true Vilnius experts. They have all the stuff you'd want to and need to do, whether it's guys, girls or mixed travel. Beyond the usual suspects, there's also stag parties, hen dos and family trips.
Companies aren't left out either, as there are good options for kick off and team building or even completely custom made events. There's much more available, so just contact them for an offer you can't resist. Vilnius offers a lot for the money, and is still an under the radar destination.

Packing Clothes :: One Bag
Packing Clothes :: One Bag
I like this. I don't like that he's probably right about the wheels on a bag though. :)
Anyway, bundle wrapping can be tried even in a regular suitcase. Great site.

Inspired by Temple of heaven
Or, rather by people there, I bought a kite for myself. Immediately, Klara claimed it. :-)

Democracy?
Haven't even noticed this, and you know that Swedish news are full of pointless crap.
Censorship is being forced on Hungarian media. This is somewhat like back to the communist era. I don't think many people understand what this means, but this is a major fuck-up.

God exists
Or, "there is a God" would be a good headline.
Not often I find stuff that makes me excited enough that I have to post it here, but, lo and behold, breaking news... One of the biggest disgraces to Sweden, my worst fear of someone winning the elections, Mona Sahlin, is resigning from her post as leader of the Social democrats (S).
Her scandals are nothing short of amazing, and the peoples' confidence in her - or just plain stupidity, or using the system and being content with the policy of support paid - has often left me in awe, not knowing whether to "spit or swallow". I truly loathe her. If you are a Social Democrat leader, then live the ideology FFS!
Not being a left wing man myself, I can say, this was a nice Father's day gift!
Of course, nothing is ever perfect, and as such, we'll probably have to put up with her in some official role, leaches are hard to get rid of, but at least I won't have to hear her say so many stupid things in the news.
And at the same time, this can be a problem for the right wing parties, as she actually helped them win the election, by just being her. The useful idiot...
(Sorry these are in Swedish, but they are hilarious...)

One update a year

Have had some problems for a while now with the front left brake not releasing as it should. Finally I got hold of the spare brake, and got some time for the job. Fixed the brake myself, with some help and tools from Henrik. There were some problems along the way, and I did get a little worried at one point, but it was just a minor tool handling issue.
Not sure I'll go into auto repair business though... B-)

The washing cycle

Since 3AM, our washning machine has been on non-stop, and I'm not sure it's made for that.
Both the Mrs. and kiddo has a kind of stomach flu. Klara needs new bed linen, towels and clothes every couple of hours.
So far I've managed not to get ill, and with some luck (or genetics) I´ll steer clear of it.
It's been a long night and day, and a very little sleep is involved, not my preferred choice at all. :P

Good
Saw the movie "Good" with Viggo Mortensen today. Not an easy film, somewhat uncomfortable at every turn. It's the kind of movie that you think about after seeing it. Recommended!
Now I'm at the gymn, and come to think about, what a luxury this is. Soon I'll go back home to my family, snow falling outside, not much to complain about!

Now THIS is winter
So the first snow never melted away, and now, we got more snow. And more. And more... and the temperature is below -5C every day.
Yesterday evening I shoveled a path to our front door, and by the time our guest were leaving (a couple of hours later) there was a layer more than 10cm thick to prevent them.
Today, it looks like this in our back yard:

I don't remember having this much snow ever, here in this part of Sweden.
You could compare with this picture...
The forcast has changed, and it could very well be a white Christmas this year!
All is not good though. We left Klara at my parents yesterday, and today I really don't know how to get there. :D

A great day at work

This is what I love to do. This is the part I love about my job. I love to sit and engineer plastics in 3D, but unfortunately this isn't what it's all about all the time. Then again, when this part of the job is ongoing, it's usually a rush, just as it was this time.
So having a cold this week and feeling tired, around 17 o'clock my head was like a jar of marmelade. Still today was great... Can't wait for the next round of CAD mayhem to commence. :)

Grandparents
Being a father really sets you up for challenges you weren't aware of existed. Klara was at my parents Saturday to Monday evening, and while it was nice to have some time just for myself (the wife was in Stockholm), I looked at quite many video footages on my phone during these days. It's funny how much your child can affect you, especially when he/she is not around.
There are so many great things with Klara spending time with my parents, one of them being learning lots of Hungarian words. But the things that makes me happiest is the fact that she loves being there, playing with my parents, and that they spoil her, not as much with gifts, as with love, care and all the time and patience in the world. She's always so happy with them. Love you, mom and dad!

Less for more

This was a big letdown...
The ticket cost 25% more this year (850SKK), then they charged 120DKK (wtf!) for the rental of a fuckin' box that you almost could use for two winter jackets, last year it was "only" 70DKK and you could fit three. And they only accepted cash, well, a nice surprise after standing in a 50m line.
At least there was no line to get in, so that went well.
And then, nothing. Where did they leave the props? The "Wicked wonderland" stuff? This was like a regular night out, with some lasers added. No bouncing balls like last year. No fountains. No performances that we found memorable. Basically just a DJ and some screens going up and down with the DJ's name. Wow. I don't know if I'll go next year. This wasn't a fair thing to do to everyone expecting to get entertainment value for their money...
Because despite the good music, and the good DJs, we should have gotten more bang for the buck.
Highlight of the evening: Mr. White playing "Aztec Mystic - Jaguar"
